Lena's Cafe is an italian restaurant in Altoona, Pennsylvania. It is listed at 2000 8th Ave, Altoona, PA 16602, which places it among the local businesses of Altoona that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.

Italian restaurants, sub shops, calzone counters and Italian delis sit next to the pizzerias on this site because most of them bake pizza too, often from the same dough. Full-service Italian restaurants take reservations for dinner, add a tip line for table service (15-20% is customary) and usually run a cheaper lunch menu on weekdays. Sub and sandwich shops are counter-order and quick, with sizes by the inch or in half and whole lengths. Calzones and strombolis are priced like a medium pizza and are large enough to share. Italian delis and bakeries sell by weight and by the piece, and many close mid-afternoon.

Hours are published for 1 day a week. Typical hours are 11 AM–8 PM. It is closed on Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Lena's Cafe at (814) 943-9655; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Server had 9 tables at once. My mom recommended it because I never been there. Me, my mom and 4 kids and the bill was only $70. I tipped her $50 because as busy as it was and only her, she had a great attitude and very kind.

You will enjoy the perfect meatball, sausage or no meat with the home(mmm)made pasta dishes. Yes, you can have desert! Jayla was so hard working, attentive to our requests and enjoyable serving the best homemade Italian food you can ask for- bon appettito!

$75 to try pretty a lot on the menu and enough to feed 4 adults plus three kids easily. Done in under a half hour at supper time. Prompt service, great food. Family owned.

This past weekend we were in Altoona and wanted to grab some dinner before heading back home. We came upon Lena's Cafe. The place definitely had a local hometown favorite vibe. Hubby and I were disappointed that no drink menu was offered, but I was able to get a glass of wine. We both took advantage of the bread that was brought to the table, not warm or anything special but definitely fresh and we were both pretty hungry! We ordered appetizers, I had the fried mozzarella, my Husband had the fried eggplant, both were delicious and served piping hot, but what we really loved was the marinara served with! It was a fresh tasting very tomato forward sauce, yum! I had the crab cake salad for entree and it was tasty, my husband enjoyed his cheesesteak hoagie. Nothing fancy about the place, but the food was good and the place was packed as we were leaving.
